One question many new webmasters ask is whether their website should have a "privacy policy." If your website is a simple "billboard" or "directory" type page that gives your store's address and operating hours, then you may not need a written privacy policy. However, if a website collects any kind of information, like a name or an email address, from its visitors, regardless of whether that information is provided by the visitor themselves in exchange for something like a newsletter or a download or the information is obtained through the use of certain web and browser technologies such as cookies, then the answer is definitely "yes", you should have a privacy policy.
